Harri originally came about during the creative days of 1969 when pop culture was exploding around us. Jeff Moores, an eleven year old living in Pittsburgh, Pa., entertained his classmates with a cast of cartoony zombies. One of his little critters later became known as Harri because it resembled Jeff’s good buddy Harry. For one reason or another Harri kept appearing in Jeff’s drawings, as well as on desk tops, lockers, walls, library file cabinets, school buses and interstate exit signs. Tourists in Daytona Beach reported a giant 300 ft. Harri drawn in the sand and some ice fisherman on Honeoye Lake can recall a huge 500 ft Harri on the snow covered ice. Soon everyone wanted to know: Where’s Harri? One thing is certain, Harri can usually be found hiding in Jeff’s artwork: from The New York Times, to Burger King cheeseburger boxes to a Xerox multi-media seminar. Can YOU find Harri?
